“Let’s Start a Daily Art Journal Practice!”
Have you ever thought about keeping a journal? Not the kind you write your thoughts and feelings in, but an “Art Journal”. You’ll learn how to document your days with basic drawing, painting and pasting. Join me, and I’ll share how I create a journal that’s personal and meaningful.
I have made art in a journal (or I call it my “visual diary”) for almost 3 years now….everyday! I paint, draw, stamp, and collage papers from my daily life. They have become my diary, photo album, scrapbook and art journal all in one, leather bound book. My completed journals will serve as examples to students and show the evolution of my work.
I’ll share my tricks and some techniques for keeping up with a daily art practice. It’s all about establishing simple habits and the process doesn’t take as much time as you’d think.
Please bring: a permanent fine tip black pen, some double-sided tape or glue stick, a blank book (if you have one)* and any personal papers or photos you’d like to include. After the first class, students will have a better idea what to purchase and bring with them to the remaining classes. I’ll bring basic art supplies to share, no expensive art supplies needed. *(I’ll have a few blank journals and some art supplies for sale).
